What's the best thing about being back home you ask? Sleeping for more than 3 hours at a time, especially in a bed that can’t sink, doesn't move, and isn't beside a window overlooking incoming icebergs or polar bears. Bliss…

Meanwhile, back in Cambridge Bay, Teleport is now in the icy clutches of winter, with the temperature at a chilly -11 deg at the moment, and heading for -20 deg C by Friday. The bay has already frozen over, and Teleport's been dragged a little higher up the hill out of reach of the pack ice.

Chris and I have been back in sunny Sydney for about three weeks now and it's been great catching up with friends and family - but our hectic schedule still continues! We had a live TV interview with Channel 9's TODAY SHOW (You can watch the interview online HERE or embedded below - it's pretty cool and has some great footage that you've not seen yet!), Chris has been busy writing articles for various yachting and outdoor magazines, and all the while I have been busy video editing for our VIDEO UPDATES on the adventure. We are already back doing 1-Day Photography Courses all around Australia, and in about a week's time were running a two week Photo Safari to Galapagos! After that, two two-week safaris to Kenya in January! I've managed to get a few freelance videography gigs for weddings and the like as well =)

But in even more exciting news, I have FINALLY FINISHED VIDEO UPDATE #6, covering our traumatic crossing from Newfoundland in Canada to Nuuk the capital of Greenland, and all the trials and tribulations along the way. I hope you enjoy the video!

The video update is embedded below, but you can also see it HERE on YouTube.

If you come here please call! I send you wishes of best of luck for your upcoming safaris and will continue to follow your escapades. If there is anything I can do to help out don't hesitate to contact me. Talk tou soon, Derek

Just checked out some of the video footage and interviews, amazing to mentally place actual footage to the great read during the adventure. Both media are wild to experience. Cheers Brad

Well Jess and Chris, you finally did it. The pictures and video's are so fantastic that we have decided to join the "no fixed address" club. We went to Annapolis to the boat show and did some planning. We are on the hunt for our new boat. Peace and love from Halifax.

I just read a very nice article about your trip in the Calgary Herald (calgaryherald.com) entitled, "Aussie couple sailing yacht through Northwest Passage". The journalist made an error (sometimes they don't listen carefully) in stating that you are the first junkrig to enter the Northwest Passage. The first person was Colin Irwin to whom I referred you and with whom you corresponded. He tried in the sixties but was prevented finally from getting through by ice, which was more prevalent in those days. It is interesting to note that his rig was designed by Blondie Hasler, who was co-designer of your boat and Colin was instructed in it's use by Michel Ritchie, the skipper of Jester, the inspiration of Teleport's design. It was a 19 ft. fibreglass, whale-backed, engineless boat with a huge winch on deck to haul the boat out onto ice if it was trapped. Colin Irwin, by the way, was aboard Teleport the day she went out for her first sail in 1988. Good to see Teleport safe and snug for the winter!
