New Port 2km Ocean Swim

Only a week after Christmas and a day after new years, I braved a 2km ocean swim held a New Port, Sydney’s northern Beaches. The weather could not have been better, a bright beautiful sunny day and the water was so clear that even 600m out to sea I could still see the bottom of the ocean. Although perfect conditions it was still a very challenging race, as soon as the starting gun went off I ran into the surf obviously unaware how exhausting trying to get past the break line of ever increasing waves can be, 200m into the race and I was buggered! As soon as I regained my composure and was in a steady pace I soon felt at ease! I finished the race with a time of 41min and 32sec! Yipee! Thanks Chris Bray for taking photos and Thanks to mum and dad for spectating and cheering me on!
